Kayak Crew
Are you passionate about the outdoors, love kayaking, and enjoy working with people? River Queen Voyages is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Kayak Crew Members to join our team! As a key member of our crew, you'll play a vital role in providing unforgettable kayaking experiences for our guests. If you’re a “good hang” that also takes safety seriously, we want to hear from you! You will be responsible for everything from driving our vans and trailers, to hauling kayaks, to leading our guests on kayaking adventures. Responsibilities:
Safely transport kayaks and equipment to and from launch sites using company vehicles and trailers.
Load and unload kayaks, including lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs in various weather conditions.
Provide friendly and informative pre-trip briefings to guests, emphasizing safety guidelines.
Lead guided kayak tours, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
Assist guests with launching and landing kayaks.
Maintain and clean kayaks and equipment.
Manage and coordinate reservations and customer inquiries.
Provide exceptional customer service and create a positive and memorable experience for guests.
Problem-solve any issues that arise on the river or with equipment and logistics.
Qualifications:
A love of the outdoors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift and carry 70 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license preferred.
Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Experience driving trailers is a plus.
Ability to work well in a team setting.

Role Overview:
As a Deckhand, you'll be the ultimate host and safety guardian, ensuring every tour is smooth, safe, and filled with laughter. You'll be the face of our operation, responsible for creating a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This role is perfect for someone who loves the outdoors, enjoys interacting with people, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Party Starter & Guest Entertainer:
Be the life of the party! Set the perfect playlist, lead fun party games, and capture memorable moments with photos.
Share captivating historical and sightseeing facts, making each tour an engaging experience.
Create a celebratory and welcoming atmosphere that leaves guests with lasting memories.
Safety & Navigation:
Ensure the safety of all guests during boarding, disembarking, and throughout the tour.
Assist the Captain with navigation, docking, and securing the vessel.
Serve as the Captain's "eyes and ears," responding promptly and professionally to instructions.
Know and execute all emergency procedures.
Vessel Maintenance & Operations:
Assist with daily vessel operations and maintenance, ensuring everything is in top condition.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe deck and common areas for guests.
Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies.
Customer Service Excellence:
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest needs with a friendly and positive attitude.
Resolve guest issues quickly and professionally.
Qualifications:
A natural entertainer with a knack for creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong situational awareness and a commitment to safety.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under minimal supervision.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat.

Ability to work long hours with minimal breaks.
Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or maritime environments is a plus.
Must be able to pass a background check, pre-employment, and random drug screenings (USCG requirements).
Existing First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.

USCG Master Captain
We're seeking a fun, skilled, and safety-focused USCG Licensed Master Captain to join our team delivering unforgettable experiences on Nashville's scenic waterways. We're not just offering boat tours; we're creating memorable adventures on our unique 16-passenger pedal pontoon boat. Specializing in scenic tours, public party cruises, and private experiences, we prioritize safety, exceptional customer service, and environmental stewardship on our 90min cruises…and beyond!
Role Overview:
As one of our USCG Licensed Master Captains, you’ll be the cornerstone of our Pedal Pontoon team, responsible for the safe navigation and operation of our vessel. Your expertise in maritime navigation, leadership skills, and unwavering commitment to safety will ensure every voyage is smooth, enjoyable, and secure. You’ll lead our crew, maintain our high standards, and create exceptional experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities:
Safe Vessel Operation & Navigation:
Safely operate and navigate the vessel, strictly adhering to all USCG regulations and maritime laws.
Expertly maneuver the vessel in varying weather and river conditions, ensuring passenger comfort and safety.
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation as required.
Crew Leadership & Management:
Supervise, direct, and train the crew, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Effectively communicate with and provide clear instructions to crew members.
Safety & Compliance:
Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly and in compliance with safety standards.
Monitor weather conditions and adjust routes as needed to ensure passenger safety.
Oversee and conduct regular safety drills, equipment checks, and ensure all certifications are current.
Maintain communication with shore-based staff and emergency services as necessary.
Guest Experience & Customer Service:
Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a memorable and safe experience for all guests.
Address guest inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.
Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere on board.
Operational Management:
Oversee docking, fueling, and other operational activities.
